((nah, I just don't really know where to put Mock in this thread, or any thread for that matter. As a rule, he kind of goes perennially unnoticed. When I find a thread for him to come in as a support player, I'll plug him in, but adding him to the crowd around Red would be too big of a huddle for my tastes. I'm working on a thread outlining some of the grim business with Eddie but that'll be a solo thread, hoping to get that started tonight))

((edit: post is now up ^-^))
Theo shook his head at Cass's question "I didn’t notice anyone behind me, but I was a little distracted... its probably just the wind catching the door" he was obviously still distracted as he answered, thought of how what seemed like just moments ago he had suggested killing the man, the man who was now waking up. 'Murderer, no better then those who kill others for fun. You should have fallen when you had the chance. Weak, weak little man.' his own voice said inside his head, taunting him. Gritting his teeth he stared intensely into the fire, trying to shut the taunting voices out when a new voice pieced through his thoughts.
"Are you alright Theo? What did you do to your hand?" it took him a moment for him to realise what Rio had said, and another to realise it was directed at him. Looking down at his hand he realised it was still bleeding and starting to sting more 'probably getting an infection, d*mn thing' he thought to himself as what happened on the roof flashed back to him, tucking his hand into his pocket to try and hide it from view he just shook his head at Rio "I'm fine, its fine. There was... some glass hidden in the snow" the pause in his voice was long enough for anyone listening to notice "I didn’t notice it and it decided to take a liking to my hand, I made sure there wasn’t any more in what I was taking which is why I took longer then normal."

Rio nodded and put an uncomfortable look on her face, getting glassed was painful, and all hand wounds hurt pretty bad without them,
"Oh that sucks!" She said, "Want me to bandage it for you? Or at least put on some kind of antiseptic? We don't want two people coming down bedridden now do we?"
She asked, grouping around in her bag to produce a roll of self-made bandages out of clothes and a bottle of cheap blackhead cleaner that Rio had been using as a fairly powerful antiseptic to emphasize her point...

For a moment Theo just looked at Rio, well more at her shoulder being unable to look directly at her before hesitantly drawing his wounded hand out of his pocket again and laid it out for her "I-I guess it couldn’t hurt to have someone bandage it, if you don’t mind I mean, ill pay you back the bandages sometime" slowly he opened his clenched fist to reveal the cut. It wasn’t deep, just deep enough to keep bleeding, but it ran roughly across the middle of all four fingers on one of his hands.
In truth Theo was nervous that she might notice something, a bit of dirt, the way the cut is, something that would tell her that it was really made on the edge of a roof rather then on a shard of glass. Despite being one of the most anti-social people in the room he had grown fond of their strange little family but with his most recent screw up, suggesting they just kill red, he was unsure where he stood with them all anymore, and he didn’t want to risk loosing what little piece of 'normality' he has in an otherwise screwed up world by them finding out he tried to off himself.

Cass watched the exchange between Rio and Theo with half-interest while she gave Red a few minutes to rest between drinks. Her eyes raked calculatively over the pair, reading actions and tone as well as most people read a book. Body language had never been part of her training, but she'd always had a healthy interest in people watching. It had given her an advantage in certain situations. Here, it did little more than let her know that Theo was being sullen and Rio was desperately trying to steal Agate's title of mother hen.
The small soldier woman looked back to her patient and began administering a second cup of warm water. Kin was diligent in helping ease the liquid down his throat just as before. Her avid interest in watching his face ever since that first flutter of awakeness made Cass wonder if they'd have to pry the scientist off when it was time to let the man rest on his own. If she knew Kin at all (and she'd unfortunately gotten to know quite a few residents more than she cared to), then the woman had attached some guilt complex or another to seeing her beau in this state. All the coddling and carrying on going on in this room was near enough to make the gun show sick.

It was slow going but Red was becoming reacquainted with both his body and the world around him. The blurred world was trying to focus for his eyes, leaving him a view that was now fuzzy and with everything in triples. Reflexively he tried to curl his fingers but that only seemed to intensify the multitude of sharp stabbing sensations, as if every bit of his being was laid on wrong and the circulation was just now awakening the nerves. The dull ache seemed to grow whenever he tried to move, and the sounds around him, although becoming far off words instead of muffled gibberish, seemed to intensify the thudding pain in his head. He let his eyes close to try to push back the rhythmic pain; it didn't work as well as he had wished but at least he was rooted in the now instead of returning to that dark place which even then was fleeting from his memory.
He was very tired, yet it wasn't the surrendering fatigue he had endured recently - it was just pure physical exhaustion. It occurred to him that the warmth that was coming over him was originating at his lips and he tried to do his part in swallowing, the pressure on his neck clearly was the hand of someone trying to get him to imbibe since he did not have the energy. With his eyes closed, he could focus what little strength he had on drinking, even if it was in small amounts on his own. With the reviving of his senses, he realized that he was freezing despite the heat around him and, having endured a winter in this city before and having seen what it could do, realized that his best option right now was to get warm inside.
