The climax of climaxes...

I have planned out Sarah's return to her somewhat normal self (read: no more trigger finger,) but there's a major note in it I wanted to bring up. The gist is:

Girl meets boy. (This would appear in the story section, and I would update my Survivor Diaries to this point.)
Girl falls for Guy.
Girl brings guy home.
Guy horribly attacks girl.

The main reason I am saying it earlier then just posting the open RP thread for it is because the form of humiliation and spirit-breaking I chose that Sarah would be most damaged by was a hot-trigger subject concerning in game versions of this crime: Rape and murder.

I guess what I'm trying to say is if I censor as much as I could when the actual problem occured, would you'r chars (and more importantly, yourselfs,) feel comtrable at having to deal with the aftermath? If you guys say no, I will work on another form of humiliation to demoralize Sarah to being more 'mutish.'

:/ Personally I think there are better ways to "calm down" a char other than the cliche rape story. It's far too often used in RP to garner sympathy or attract attention. However, it's your char and you can play her out however you wish.

All teens must grow up eventually. It's an unavoidable process. No, it's not always easy to do, especially in a city like Malton, but it can't exactly be skirted by putting her through a terrible experience.

I don't know much about RP or how often this sort of thing goes on. I definitely appreciate that you thought to give a heads-up about it and see where we stood on it. I kinda worry about rape as a resolution though, y'know? If it's a story you want to tell and you feel like you can do the subject matter justice, than have at it, but rape is a totally devastating, lifechanging thing, and the last it'd ever do was reset a person back to normal.

It's done terribly often to varying degrees of seriousness. I know one RP'er who has their char raped /every night/. There's a point where you start rolling your eyes at yet another dramatic char rape instead of feeling sorry for them. And I've rarely seen the reactions done really... well... realistically.

Well, I'll try, but I was asking how 'graphic' is you guy's comfort levels, say, the difference between just ripped clothes or graphic descripts of body fluids or the actual event being described, etc.

I was wanting to know where the line was, so I don't cross it...

As for the normalcy issue, I'm gonna have another story bit for the aftermath, where one of my others (or if someone volenteers, another person in a new RP thread,) sorta talk it over with her.

I'm not quite sure where I stand on the rape story, but as far as any vote I have is concerned... If I don't like it, I'll stop reading!

Anyway, by what it sounds like, I will keep the event to a mininum, but the aftermath will be graphic.

A site intended mostly for survivors of rape and abuse, but may come in handy.
A site that may have a good idea of how hard a thing to get over rape is.

I'd suggest reading them all and then deciding if this is still something you want to tackle. If you do, draw from references as much as you can -- this is a messy subject, and honest to goodness, if you can tackle it with a serious sense of respect and realism, well, that's something I'd respect quite a lot.
