"I-I think, m-maybe you're right"
Said Rio, who found herself shaking a little, she felt odd. Like, something was in her head and making her dizzy, making her shake and making Agate sound, well angry to her. Rio began to advance a little more into her room, slowly as she could to prevent Agate from noticing. but then she stopped, and rested against the door-frame of her hotel room door,
"I-I don't f-feel so well..."
She confessed, staring at the ground, feeling odd...

"You're not looking so good, too," Agate added, noting the drain of colour from her cheeks. Not that people in Malton were coloured much other than 'dirty' these days, but Rio looked like she'd seen a ghost. Without so much as a by-your-leave, Agate shifted Casey to one arm and reached over to try to rest the back of his knuckly hand across Rio's forehead, as if to gauge her temperature. He was still struggling to ask first instead of simply taking, and his daughter seemed to be about the same: she took Agate's leaning forward as a chance to try to escape into Rio's arms, or more likely, to escape onto Rio-the-jungle-gym, if only to explore.

Rio still had normal temperature for what she was wearing in what surroundings she was in and the physical activities she had been doing before Agate had started this conversation, which was pretty warm. She was still pale, shaking a little, and her eyes were a little bloodshot, the little black pupils in the center darting from looking at one thing to the other quickly,
"M-Maybe I just need some rest, get some fresh air or something..."
She said, rubbing her eyes and making a faint smile. Her mind was set at the fact that she had done something very wrong, and she wanted to get away, to try and hide under a big rock somewhere where she could be forgotten about. But saying that, she desperately wanted to see John again, she wanted to see him safe as well as to say sorry for whatever she had done. Now she was in breakdown mode, her mind tearing itself to pieces in front of Agate and Casey, not really caring if Casey wanted to use her as a climbing frame or pull at her hair or anything...

Luckily, Agate had caught Casey before she made the leap (or the tumble, which would have been more likely). Juggling her back into a firmer hold and clucking at her, he turned his attention back to the woman in front of him. She looked like sh*t. "You want some hot water or something? I was going to put some on for lunch, maybe it'll help." He wasn't quite finished prying into her business, so poor Rio would probably have to close the door on him or tell him to dicker off if she wanted privacy. Agate smelled a rat in Rio's words and gestures, so despite Casey getting thoroughly fed up with being restrained, Agate didn't oblige the infant or the woman with giving attention where it was rightfully due.

Agate was right about food and warmth helping, but Rio really wanted to be alone and a million miles from anyone else right now. But, she couldn't even come close to refusing such a kind offer of his. Besides, maybe he was right and all she needed was some hot water and the suggestion of food. Rio scratched the back of her head and forced a waverly smile onto her face,
"Umm, y-yes please Agate, that w-would be really nice..."

"Why don't you grab an extra blanket or sweater or something and come hang around the couch while I get some water and get it boiling?" Agate could sense a hermit emerging in Rio's subtext and he would do what he could to abolish it. Most of the time, he left people to themselves... but for one thing, Rio was too much of a sucker to leave alone. For another, an inkling of genuine concern might, possibly, have sparked some of his actions.
Agate took to swinging Casey back and forth, which seemed to soothe the savage for the moment. Imminent infant escape averted, Agate asked, "I'll meet you downstairs?" of the other blonde. So maybe a minute of respite was fair. If Rio didn't show up in the lounge (lounge? The place looked like a bomb shelter with some extra space thrown in for free) by the time that Agate had set up, there would be some door knocking and friendly reminders to come out.

"Okay, see you s-soon then?"
Said Rio, going into her room and sitting down on her couch, feeling a little better than before. She waited until Agate left to start getting ready, she both wanted the privacy and felt odd getting ready around people that she didn't know that well...

Agate spared his hand for a wave and then let Rio be... for now, anyways.
((Do you want to wrap this particular scene up, here, or keep going for a while? Agate would likely do just what he said and boil some water for her while he scrapes together some food for 'lunch' for anyone who's still in the building, continuing on the same bent that he has been.))
