The click of the hammer pulling back on hi revolver echoed loudly in the stairwell. "And how would you know that name, woman?"
"I believe we have a mutual friend. Her name's Brett." the woman said cautiously and he eyed the bag she held before flicking his thumb; with another click, the gun was no longer cocked.
"Only two ways you'd know Brett's a woman -- one you searched her corpse or two...she trusts you."
"My name is Sarah and I'd like to think she trusts me with all she's told me," the woman retorted and the masked man gave a harsh, raspy laugh as he returned the revolver to his hip-holster.
"You've got guts, woman. Alright then -- lead onward."

"Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't..." she replied. She waited for his reply.

In a sudden, abrupt movement, Myers was off the landing and on the step above her, his hand gripping her shirtfront and hauling her up on her tiptoes with his other hand on her wrist to keep her from reaching into ther carpet bag; he wasn't very tall this close, just a few inches taller then Brett herself. In the shadows of the white porcelain mask's eyeholes, dark eyes glittered dangerously at the woman the bounty-hunter held.
"You will take me to Brett, woman. If you have treated her injuries then you and yours are in more danger then you realize," the mercenary hissed out. "Brett has a policy to not go anywhere near people when she's hurt and if she's broken that rule, there's someone worse then me after her. My job is to find her and protect her and if anyone threatens her or hampers that mission I will kill them."
He suddenly dropped her back to her feet and backed up the stairs towards the landing. "Show me the way, woman, before her pursuer finds her...or she loses control on that beast within her...."
"What beast?"
"...she's a deepcover agent, she told you that, didn't she?" Myers finally asked, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared down the stairs at the woman.
"Yes..." Sarah admitted, wondering where he was going with all this...
"Her codename is Psycho." Myers stated. "She's not been right in her mind for a while, not since...that incident. She's a functioning lunatic, really."
"The first time she meet zombies you mean? That incident?"
"...she's been chatty..." Myers murmured darkly and sighed again. "That's part of it. It wouldn't have been so bad if...if her family hadn't been mixed up in the entire mess... but that is not my story to tell you. Just...take me to her. Its not safe for her...or your safehouse's residents."

At that very moment as Myers was talking to Sarah a certain curious axe man was making his way up to the third floor. When he had arrived back at the Cosway he had assumed it was empty, or at least everyone wanted their private time for whatever reason, but when the sounds of snoring had drifted down to where he had been sitting his curiosity went off like a rocket. So here he was, slowly drifting up the stairs at the back of the hotel, pausing every now and then to see if he was getting closer to the sound.
When he reached the third floor the man paused again and listened for a moment before slowly setting off down the corridor, pausing outside the doors for a quick listen in his search for the snorer.
When he came to Brett’s door he paused for longer than normal, putting his ear near to the door he waited for a second. Then for some reason he lightly knocked on it, instantly cursing himself for being so foolish, surely he had woken up whoever was sleeping inside. Still mentally cursing at himself he quietly opened the door a crack and poked his head round, mumbling quiet apologies and hoping he hadn’t woken the room’s owner.

"Ok, ok, keep yo hairnet on..." Sarah said. "I thought for a second you were after her, yeesh..."
---
The knocking had alerted Sandy as well, but she was a floor higher then Brett's room. She headed for the stairs to investigate.

"I am after her, but not in a hostile manner. My duty is to protect her and aid her in anyway. My plan is to fake a bounty report and submit it to get her off the Rogue's Gallery so she can fly under the radar." Myers informed her and stepped aside to allow Sarah to move up the stairs and towards the roof access.
---
The knock on the door caused the sleeping scientist's snores to halt and eyes to open; they gleamed in the dimness of the motel room and the head lifted to stare at the opening door. The scent was masculine, part of Brett's mind noted and pain didn't register as the prematurely grey scientist shifted her weight atop the mattress; the bed springs squeaked softly as she shifted her weight to grab her discarded tee-shirt and pulled it back on over her bandaged torso.
Brett's lips pulled back to bare fang-like teeth right as the man's head poked around the door and the glowing green eyes locked on the intruder's...

"This way," she said as she led the way across the rooftops.
---
Sandy made it to the stairs and headed down them, looking down the hallway. She saw a person there, looking into a room. She quietly crept towards him, weapons ready...

the soft sounds of footsteps behind him was not lost on Theo, like many survivors he had learned to pay attention to any sound around him but this time he paid it no attention. Stepping fully into the room and closing the door behind him he watched the scientist for a moment, still mumbling apologies. But then he saw her eyes.
Something about her eyes had always unnerved him, but never as much as this. A voice in the back of his head was screaming at him to leave, to run before something happened that voice was quickly gagged, dragged out into the street, hung and then shot repeatedly by his curiosity. But still, unconsciously his hand was reaching around to the handle of the large axe he always kept strapped to his back "h-hey, are you ok?"

Myers was fast on his feet; he easily kept pace with Sarah as they crossed the rooftops, often forgoing the bridges strung up between the buildings in favor of simply leaping across the rooftops. The bounty hunter moved with a silent efficient grace, the grace of a hunter used to tracking the most dangerous prey of all -- psychotic serial killers. When they halted on the Cosway's rooftop, he paused, allowing her to enter first, holding the door open for her.
Apparently even in a hell on earth quarantine zone where the dead walked, there really were some gentlemen left...
---
"Leave. Now." Brett managed to form the two words out from between clenched teeth; there was a soft cracking of bone as the scientist's jaw shifted and fangs formed more predominately. Her hands flexed and her nails lengthened, hardened, forming claws tore into the old bedspread.

Sarah entered slowly. Her own nonhuman sences felt something... different around here...
---
"Hey! You!" Sandy called, leveling the Snubbs at the man. However, she heard the growl and lowered it slightly. Huh? She inched closer...

taking a step back Theo suddenly became very aware of the girl behind him as he accidently bumped into her, growling slightly himself he slowly brought his axe round infront of himself to protect himself with and shifted to keep himself between the ex-scientist and the girl. Not daring to take his eyes off the strange being infront of him for even half a second he had no idea who it was behind him, but still he didnt want anyone hurt by his mistake so reaching back with one hand he blindly tried to usher her out of the room

Myers followed the female called Sarah, unease growing in the pit of his belly. Silently he hoped, prayed to any listening deity that Brett was alright and not getting into trouble.
Of course, with his track record concerning the divine, he had the sinking sensation he was going to be jumping blindly into whatever mess Brett'd made for him....
--
The creature that was Brett pushed herself up to stand on the bed, her clawed hands flexing and baring her fanged maw at the intruding male; she managed to snarl out two words, repeating her previous command: "Leave. Now."

Sarah and Myers ran down the stairs, as thunderous growls came from down 3 floors.
"What the?"
---
Sandy peered around the guy, and her eyes suddenly bulged.
"Holy shi..."
And with that, she fainted.

Theo was just thinking that taking the creatures advice would be a very good thing to do when he heard the thud of something hitting the floor behind him, tutting to himself he chanced a quick glance back to confirm what he thought, the kid had indeed fainted "were trapped in a zombie filled city and the kid faints at the first sign of a monster, i thought they would have had more guys then that..." He mumbled to himself and in what seemed like painfully slow movements he moved behind Sandy.
Roughly wrapping an arm around her chest he mumbled an apology for anything inappropriate and tried to drag her back out of the room, one hand holding onto her and the other holding onto his axe which he kept at the ready, just incase the creature tried anything.

"Sinclair!" Myers snarled and darted around Sarah, running full tilt towards the fierce growling that seemed to echo up the stairs; he was down the three stories faster then most would have believed due to his heavy pack, fueled by a sudden burst of adrenaline.
As he skidded into the hallway where the sounds were originating from, he shifted the pack he carried as he ran. The pack was dropped to the floor as he skidded to a halt beside a male dragging an unconscious female from the potential danger zone. He inspected the unconscious female, found no visible signs of trauma and stepped between the man and his unconscious cargo and the door of the motel room.
Brett's glowing eyes locked onto the gleaming white mask, marred by bloodstains that refused to leave the porcelain mask.
"Myers...."
